Terms of Service

Welcome to bluprint. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Rinah Seo, doing business as bluprint ("bluprint," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the bluprint mobile application and related services (the "Service"). bluprint is operated by its two founders; Rinah Seo is the responsible legal party under these Terms.

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Note for our team: The governing law, venue, and DMCA designated agent below reflect operator decisions as of the effective date. Have this reviewed by a qualified attorney before launch.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use bluprint. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep it up to date.
  • You may sign in with email and password or with Google, subject to those providers' terms.
  • Notify us promptly at bluprint.legal@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
  • Usernames are subject to availability and may be limited in how often they can be changed. We may reclaim usernames that are inactive, impersonate others, or violate these Terms.

3. The Service

bluprint lets you plan trips, build itineraries, track expenses and bookings, collaborate with people you invite, follow other users, and publish trips for others to discover. Features may change, expand, or be discontinued over time. Expense figures and travel details you enter are for your own planning and informational purposes only — bluprint does not process payments, make bookings, or provide travel, financial, or other professional advice.

4. Your Content

"Your Content" means anything you create or upload to the Service — trips, itineraries, notes, expense entries, profile photos, and other materials.

  • You own Your Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership to us.
  • License to us. You grant bluprint a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, to show your trip to collaborators you invited, or to display a trip you chose to publish). This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content others have already copied or that we must retain for legal reasons or to support shared trips.
  • Your responsibility. You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or violate any law. You are responsible for Your Content.

5. Publishing and Shared Trips

  • When you publish a trip, it becomes publicly visible within the Service, along with your public profile (username, display name, and avatar). Do not publish anything you want to keep private.
  • When you invite people to a trip, they can view and contribute to that trip. Content within a shared trip may remain accessible to other participants even if you leave the trip.

6. Anti-Copying / Originality Rules

bluprint includes protections to discourage users from passing off others' trips as their own. We may block publication of a trip that is substantially copied from another user's trip (for example, where the large majority of its content is derived from a single existing source). You agree not to circumvent these protections, scrape other users' content, or republish another user's trip as your own. We may remove published content and take action on accounts that violate this section.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Post or share content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or that violates others' privacy or intellectual property.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation.
  • Upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service.
  • Access the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers) except as we expressly permit.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts, systems, or data.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where permitted by law.
  • Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications to other users.

We may investigate and take appropriate action, including removing content and suspending or terminating accounts, for any violation.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google (sign-in and Maps/Places), Supabase, Expo, Pexels, and the Apple App Store and Google Play. Your use of those features may be subject to the third parties' own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services and do not endorse their content.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service itself — including the bluprint name, logo, design, software, and all related content we provide (excluding Your Content and third-party content) — is owned by bluprint and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service except as these Terms allow.

10. Copyright and DMCA Takedown Policy

We respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA").

If you believe content on the Service infringes a copyright you own or control, please send a written notice to our Designated Agent (below) that includes:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it (for example, the trip or profile and a description);
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email);
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Counter-notice. If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the Designated Agent with the information required by the DMCA (17 U.S.C. § 512(g)), including your signature; identification of the removed material and its former location; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your judicial district (or, if outside the United States, the Central District of California) and your agreement to accept service of process from the complaining party.

Repeat infringers. In appropriate circumstances, we will disable or terminate the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

11. Apple-Specific Terms

The following applies if you download the bluprint app from the Apple App Store. These terms are in addition to the rest of these Terms, and to the extent they conflict with the rest of these Terms as to the App Store version of the app, these terms control.

  • Acknowledgment. These Terms are between you and bluprint only, not with Apple. bluprint, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Scope of license. The license granted to you for the app is a non-transferable license to use the app on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Usage Rules.
  • Maintenance and support. bluprint is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services.
  • Warranty. bluprint is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
  • Product claims. bluprint, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection or similar legislation.
  • Intellectual property claims. In the event of any third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes that party's intellectual property rights, bluprint, not Apple, will be responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
  • Legal compliance. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

12. Feedback

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us the right to use it freely, without restriction or compensation to you.

13. Termination

  • By you. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, in the app or by emailing bluprint.legal@gmail.com.
  • By us. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable and lawful, we will try to give you notice.
  • Effect. On termination, your right to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including content licenses already granted to others, intellectual property, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms) will survive.

14. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING TRAVEL INFORMATION, MAPS, OR TRIPS SHARED BY OTHER USERS) IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. YOU USE THE SERVICE AND RELY ON ANY TRAVEL INFORMATION AT YOUR OWN RISK.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, bluprint AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including, under California Civil Code § 1668, liability for fraud, willful injury, or violation of law, whether willful or negligent.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless bluprint and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party rights.

17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts — except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the version and "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, ask you to re-accept the Terms in the app or notify you. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and bluprint regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
